Social Media Manager

Position Title:                                         Social Media Manager

Department:                                           LadiesT.A.L.K 

Employment Term:                               1 Year (min. 10 hours - max. 20 hours weekly)

Reports to:                                              Assistant Program Director & Program Manager(s)

LadiesT.A.L.K is a platform designed to educate, mentor, and empower women that desire to break free from circumstances that undervalue their potentials or undermine their creativity. LadiesT.A.L.K's goal is to help women become (Top-Notch. Accomplished, Leader, Knowledgeable) women they are destined to be. We are seeking high energy individuals to help with our membership platform for women around the world. This membership provides resources to ladies for their professional and personal development, making opportunities accessible to people in marginalized societies.  


 

Duties & Responsibilities of Social Media Manager:

  • Lead the development and maintenance of LadiesT.A.L.K overall social media strategy.

  • Facilitate LadiesT.A.L.K participation in external social networks (e.g. Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn).

  • Strategize and consult with LadiesT.A.L.K staff about how to leverage relevant social media tools and techniques into programs and services. 

  • Keep up to date on latest trends (global) and best practices in social media.

  • Manage and implement LadiesT.A.L.K content calendar and social media marketing plan.

  • Collaborate with Assistant Program Directors and Communications Manager to help meet LadiesT.A.L.K goals via social media.

  • Monitor member communications (and all other communications) on social media channels to drive engagement with members and non-members.

  • Work closely with Month Meeting Lead, Communications Manager, and Research Team to tell the story of LadiesT.A.L.K’s work, and grow LadiesT.A.L.K membership.

  • Creating flyers, editing video content, and adding creative style to social media campaigns and posts. 

  • Working with the Assistant Program Director(s), ensure that the LadiesT.A.L.K section on Family Development and Samaritan Foundation’s website is updated and is an engaging and interactive destination for LadiesT.A.L.K members, the media, non-members, and stakeholders. 



 

Preferred Qualification and Skills:

  • Positive attitude, vibrant, energetic, willingness to bring new ideas and work in a fast-paced environment. 

  • Must be willing to work independently.

  • Proven experience crafting and implementing successful social media presence or managing and implementing a media strategy of which a majority was social media based.

  • A demonstrated ability to learn on the job and a desire to develop and deepen digital organizing skills.

  • Willing to help create a community amongst women with different views, beliefs, and life experiences in a digital setting.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.

  • Must be comfortable with deadlines and have a reliable working computer or laptop.

  • Must always present professional demeanor.

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, creative environment and workplace while contributing to a well-respected, high functioning group of go-getters.


 

Requirements: 

  • Attend mandatory orientation and training.

  • Able to participate in team meetings: Teamwork and collaboration will be necessary for success in this role. 

  • Some flexibility with nights and weekends especially for urgent tasks and deadlines.



 

Working Environment: 

This internship opportunity is 100% virtual. Volunteers will utilize Microsoft Teams and Outlook to communicate with their team.

  • *Although this is advertised as an unpaid volunteer/internship opportunity, students can use this opportunity to receive credits for their courses or Capstone programs. Stipends can/will be provided to students based on program funds.
