In-kind Donation Researcher

Position Title                                            In-kind Donation Researcher

Department:                                               Women and Young Children Project

Employment Term:                                   1 Year (min. 10 hours - max. 15 hours weekly) 

Reports to:                                                  Assistant Program Director & Senior Program Manager

Salary:                                                         Unpaid Internship / Volunteer 

  

 

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Makes phone calls, emails and research potential donors and sponsors.

  • Creates an in-kind list/form to ease the process of recording, reporting, and acknowledging gifts. Ask the donors to provide the following information:

    • A detailed description of the gift, noting if the gift was used and, if so, how old it is and its condition (if fairly used).

    • The date the gift was received by their nonprofit.

    • The donor's contact information, etc.

  • Updating staff with relevant information via email/during our bi-weekly meetings.

  • Being highly dynamic, entrepreneurial, resourceful, detail-minded, organized,

  • capable of working under pressure, and committed to delivering the best and team

  • collaboration throughout the process.

  • Exhibits polite and professional communication via phone and e-mail.

  • Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.

  • Provides relevant information by answering questions and requests.

 

Preferred Qualification and Skills: 

  • Very resourceful and able to gather contacts, sponsors and donors that will donate in-kind donations to WAYC Project. 

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational, communication, and time-

management skills.

  • Demonstrate use of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, 

PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, etc.

  • Must be comfortable with deadlines and have a reliable working computer/

laptop. 

  • Must be courteous, positive, professional, as well as lively and brings new ideas to 

the table.

  • Has high multitasking ability, able to work independently as well as meshes well 

with the team and collaboration projects.

  • Open-minded and eager to learn new skillsets, software, usage, Office.com/training, etc. 


 

Requirements: 

  • Able to attend mandatory training

  • Able to participate in team meetings 

  • Some flexibility with nights and weekends 


Working Environment: 

This internship opportunity is 100% virtual. Volunteers will utilize Microsoft Teams and Outlook to communicate with their team members.


*Although this is advertised as an unpaid volunteer internship opportunity, students can use this opportunity to receive credits for their courses or Capstone programs. Stipends will be provided to students based on program funds.
