Field Communications Manager I, II
Position Title: Field Communications Manager I, II
Department: Women and Young Children Project
Employment Term: 1 Year (min. 10 hours - max. 15 hours weekly)
Reports to: Assistant Program Director & Senior Program Manager
Salary: Unpaid Internship / Volunteer
Duties & Responsibilities:
Focuses on training volunteers.
Construct a training session to try to impart three things to new volunteers:
What to do: What is expected of them as new volunteers? What will their responsibilities be?
How to do it: Explaining how volunteers can best accomplish their tasks.
What not to do: Are there certain things volunteers are not allowed to do? For example, should they not be disrespectful on phone calls/via emails while communicating with people on behalf of FDSF, etc.? Are there situations in which they should automatically call for staff backup? Training should make a volunteer's very clear.
Updating staff with relevant information via email/during our bi-weekly meetings.
Being highly dynamic, entrepreneurial, resourceful, detail-minded, organized, capable of working under pressure, and committed to delivering the best and team collaboration throughout the process.
Provides relevant information by answering questions and requests.
Preferred Qualification and Skills:
Charismatic, friendly and knows how to engage different age-groups, diverse backgrounds.
Exhibits polite and professional communication via phone and e-mail.
Detail-oriented with strong organizational, communication, and time-
management skills.
Able to work with others and engage others to work together in a healthy manner.
Demonstrate use of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel,
PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams, Outlook, etc.
Must be comfortable with deadlines and have a reliable working computer/
laptop.
Must be courteous, positive, professional, as well as lively and brings new ideas to
the table.
Has high multitasking ability, able to work independently as well as meshes well
with the team and collaboration projects.
Open-minded and eager to learn new skillsets, software, usage, Office.com/training, etc.
Requirements:
Able to attend mandatory training
Able to participate in team meetings
Some flexibility with nights and weekends
Working Environment:
This internship opportunity is 100% virtual. Volunteers will utilize Microsoft Teams and Outlook to communicate with their team members.
*Although this is advertised as an unpaid volunteer internship opportunity, students can use this opportunity to receive credits for their courses or Capstone programs. Stipends will be provided to students based on program funds.
